ADMINISTRATION INTERN
JOB DESCRIPTION


SERVICES / JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Administration Intern will have a unique opportunity to gain first hand experience working in an office setting. They will participate in all administrative activities under the mentorship of the CHSC administration officer and have opportunities to attend staff meetings, engage with internal and external stakeholders, supply ordering, and other tasks associated with the upkeep and operations of the organization. This role can be full time for a period of 6 weeks or part time for up to 16 weeks. The hourly rate of pay for this position is $14.60.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

•Assist with filing, scanning and photocopying of important school and administrative documents
•Assist with data entry of fundraising and student information
•Assist with general office maintenance (shredding, purging and sorting)
•Assist with organization of library materials
•Supply orders
•Answering phones

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

•Strong interpersonal skills
•Excellent oral communication skills
•Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism
•Good attention to detail
•Strong computer literacy skills (word, outlook, CRM database)

DIGITAL MARKETING INTERN
JOB DESCRIPTION

SERVICES / JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Digital Marketing Intern role is a unique opportunity to gain first hand experience in social media marketing. Under the supervision of the Marketing & Development Manger this individual will be responsible for developing and curating content on the centre’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter primarily). They will learn to utilize industry tools to track campaign performance and have a unique opportunity to draft and develop a marketing campaign for future use. This role can be full time for a period of 6 weeks or part time for up to 16 weeks. The hourly rate of pay for this position is $14.60.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

•Help execute digital marketing strategy
•Help create automated email marketing campaigns
•Help develop updated content for new organization website
•Help develop keywords and KPI’s for website analytics
•Help develop content for social media channels – Facebook, LinkedIn, twitter, YouTube, Instagram
•Help write blogs for company website
•Research successful marketing campaigns and social media channels of successful non-profit organizations •Research relevant influencers, content creators and media (online, TV, print, radio) in non-profit and hearing related organizations

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

•Fluent in social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn 

 •Experience with Hootsuite, Adobe Spark, and InDesign and asset

•Strong computer literacy skills

•Excellent research and analytical skills

•Ability to adhere to high standard of ethics and professionalism•Strong attention to detail•Strong writing skills

Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf & Hard of Hearing

Children’s Hearing and Speech Centre of BC is an independent Listening and Spoken Language Centre providing services to children and their families from Birth through Grade 3 (on site) and to mainstreamed students in Grades K-12 throughout B.C. www.childrenshearing.ca

We are hiring an experienced, full-time listening and spoken language trained teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing to be a part of the itinerant team that provides in-person and tele-therapy to students who are deaf and hard of hearing in Grades K-12.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Masters degree in deaf education with an emphasis on listening and spoken language
  • BC Teacher’s certificate
  • Classroom teaching experience; general education and specialized classes for children who are deaf and hard of hearing an asset.
  • Car and valid driver’s license

This is a full-time (September to June school year) position beginning September 2020. Salary is competitive, based on experience, and includes pension and extended health benefits package.
